Jeff Bezos created the history of all civil suborbital flights

The 57-year-old Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has a new title on his resume: Astronaut. On Tuesday, Bezos successfully boarded a rocket and space capsule developed by his private space company Blue Origin. Participated in the first suborbital flight, without pilots and all civilian personnel. The highly anticipated voyage also marks the first manned rocket launch of the New Shepard Blue Origin. Bezos launched from a place in the western Texas desert in the southeastern part of the city at about 9:11 a.m. Eastern time. After launch, the new Shepard rocket accelerates in space at three times the speed of sound. At 250,000 feet, the capsule separated, sending Bezos and his crew to the edge of space. Then the vehicle parachuted and landed again in the Texas desert. The entire flight lasted about 10 minutes."This is the best day of my life," Bezos told the air traffic controller after landing. Bezos' flight is suborbital, which means that he and his crew did not enter an orbit around the earth, but the capsule reached the edge of space. At an altitude of more than 65 miles, passengers lost weight there for about four minutes.

The launch of Bezos came just nine days after another billionaire, British businessman Richard Branson flew to the edge of space in a rocket vehicle developed by his own space tourism company Virgin Galactic. It has attracted the attention of the whole world, and has aroused interest and excitement in the emerging space tourism industry. Along with Bezos are his brother Mark and 82-year-old Wally Fink, a former test pilot who was one of the 13 women Mercury trained in the 1960s to prove that women are eligible Enter the astronaut team of NASA. ...... Funk is now the oldest person to reach space. This four-person team was completed by the 18-year-old Oliver Daman from the Netherlands, who now holds the title of the youngest astronaut. On NBC’s Today show, Bezos described her expectations for the trip: “I can’t wait to see what it will look like. People who go into space say they come back in a different way,” he said. Hoda Kotb, co-host of "Today". "I can't wait to see what he will do to me. Although Bezos' suborbital experience is similar to Branson, Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic operate on different flight profiles.Virgin Galactic’s rocket-powered Unity spacecraft is launched from a 50,000-foot transport plane and is piloted by two pilots on board. Blue Origin’s New Shepard missile and capsule are launched vertically and are designed to fly autonomously. The design of the Blue Origin capsule is also higher than that of the Virgin Galactic crew. The edge of space is usually defined by the Carmen Line 62 miles away. The new Shepard capsule flew over the Carmen line and the Virgin Galactic spacecraft reached an altitude of approximately 83 miles during the flight in Branson, which intensified the emerging competition between the two companies. The Federal Aviation Administration and the US Air Force recognize the 50-mile space limit, which means that Bezos, Branson and their companions are eligible to use commercial astronaut wings. Bezos' flight marked a milestone in the origin of blue and the commercial aerospace industry now dominated by Elon Musk's SpaceX. Both Branson and Bezos' flights could open up a potentially lucrative new market for expensive travel on the edge of space.
